Contingency space analysis

Contingency space analyses (CSAs). We coded all available videos for each child, but only included those in which problem behavior occurred in the CSAs (including FP contexts). First, we calculated the conditional probability of each consequence given the presence and absence of problem behavior and averaged these values across videos.

Contingency space analysis. This article addresses the contingency-space analysis (Matthews, Shimoff, & Catania, 1987) of the verbal regulation of behavior. From an applied perspective, the conceptualization of the relationship between saying and doing Matthews et al. present may be more complex than is necessary. Malott explains that all behavioral contingencies have three parts - the response, itself; the occasion for the response; and the outcome of the response. Behavior is governed, controlled, caused (there are many other terms we could include here) by its contingencies. This is easiest to see in the case of the outcome or consequence of a behavior.1.1 Homogeneity test for 2 × 2 contingency tables. Let X 1 and X 2 be two random variables, representing the rows (1 and 2) of Table 1, x 11 and x 21 being their observed values, and n 1⋅ and n 2⋅ fixed sample sizes.
